Wide angle 5x Optical zoomImpressive 5x Optical zoomThe camera's 5x Optical zoom has been especially developed by Fujinon, the division of Fujifilm responsible for lens manufacture, which is also a leading provider of broadcast-grade television lenses. The lens within the FinePix J50 expands your range of picture-taking options, allowing you to zoom in for dramatic close-ups, even when shooting from far away.
![]() Carry anywhere....Despite the larger zoom and screen the FinePix J50's compact design is remarkably svelte, at only 23mm thick. Available in a choice of either Matt Black or Brushed Silver, the slim, stylish FinePix J50 slips effortlessly into your purse or pocket and goes everywhere with ease. Easy to operateMode Dial and GUI systemControl is at your fingertips, as the selection of convenient functions is made easy with the FinePix J50's Mode Dial. This dial enables you to access to some of the most popular settings on the camera such as Auto, Anti-blur and movie recording via the intuitive GUI, (Graphical User Interface). Fujifilm's recently redesigned GUI makes navigating menu options easier than ever before. The system uses an icon-based menu, with accompanying explanations that pop up on the LCD as a new setting is selected. Layout of buttons has been designed so that the camera body remains uncluttered and can be operated easily with one hand. All-in-all, this helpful interface takes much of the guesswork out of digital camera operation, and with less to worry about, you'll have more fun with your picture taking!
![]() High resolution 2.7-inch LCD screenThe FinePix J50 features a large high-resolution 2.7-inch, 235,000 pixel LCD screen, which has a reinforced glass coating for scratch-free durability. In addition, the LCD screen is coated with anti-glare materials to increase visibility when framing or reviewing images in bright sunlight, which means that sharing your images with others is easier than ever before. ![]() Convenient xD and SD compatibilityThe FinePix J50 features an xD/SD compatible slot, allowing the use of either xD Picture Card, SD or SDHC media to store and transfer your photos. This will give you the flexibility to buy the card you want, use cards from previous cameras, or choose the media that fits with your other desktop devices like laptops, PDAs or card readers.
![]() Internal memoryThe FinePix J50 makes it possible for you to get that picture even if your memory card is full. The 12MB internal memory built into this compact ensures that you will never have to miss that special shot. Think of it as your internal insurance policy for photo opportunities. With that said, the main storage for images on the FinePix J50 should be an additional xD card, which will allow you to accommodate almost as many images as you like. Conventional camera No blur - no 'noise'A low light marvelPhotos taken in low light are the ones that are most likely to produce disappointing results. Limited flash range and direct light can mean the foreground is harshly lit and the background lost all together. If the flash isn't used at all, the image can suffer from digital interference called 'noise' as the sensor struggles to pick up all of the detail in the scene. Moving images can be blurred as the camera keeps the shutter open for longer to allow as much light in as possible. Fujifilm has put 70 years of experience in imaging into fine-tuning the light sensitivity and flash systems of its cameras and you perhaps wouldn’t normally expect a camera placed at such an affordable price point, to house such technology – but we can assure you - it does.
Conventional digital camera ![]() Anti blurThe camera's Anti-blur system increases its ISO setting and associated shutter speed, so that the shutter can open and close much more quickly, thereby freezing moving action without blur. When a still image isn't sufficient, the FinePix J50'smovie mode, at 30 frames per second, captures movie clips with sound that are limited in length only by the size of memory card used.
'Sunset' mode 'Flower' modeEase of useThe camera is preset with 16 special scene modes which make it ready to shoot anything from nightscapes, to portraits or ski slopes in an instant. These include 'beach', 'party' and 'fireworks' for optimum photography, no matter what the event. There's even a 'Baby' mode to ensure those all important pictures of baby's first years look spot-on, with skin tones faithfully reproduced. A redesigned graphical user interface and control layout ensure that the powerful feature set remains easy to use even for the novice digital camera user. Simply select a Scene Position that suits your situation and the camera automatically selects the appropriate shutter speed, exposure and white balance to ensure that you get the most of your photography; more stunning pictures, less hassle.
Create your own slideshowCreate your own 'Slideshow'The FinePix A920 features a multitude of options for sharing images once they've been taken, enabling you to share your precious moments again and again with Fujifilms new in-camera ‘Slideshow’ function, which displays images one-by-one.
