What Digital Camera - March 2008 "With the F200 EXR Fujifilm has brought a new standard down to a wider market. Those not wishing to process Raw images but still wanting quality results will welcome the flexibility of the EXR sensor, as well as the results it produces. Detail at lower ISOs is stunning and the extended dynamic range is appreciated... Ultimately, by straying from the herd and paying attention where it matters, Fujifilm has once again proved the benefits of its innovative sensor technology."
Design
The Extreme Sensor for the Ultimate Image QualityFujifilm's Super CCD EXR is a revolutionary new "3 in 1" sensor which combines High Resolution, High Sensitivity and Wide Dynamic Range in a single device. Until now it has been impossible to optimise a compact camera for both high resolution and high sensitivity; it was one or the other. However, Super CCD EXR excels at this seemingly impossible task.
Inspired by the ability of the Human eye to adapt to the light available to it, Fujifilm has designed the EXR sensor to emulate how our eyes work. EXR's unique pixel layout and advanced processing system allow the sensor to switch modes dependent on the subject matter and lighting conditions. This guarantees breathtaking image quality with every shot you take.
Three ground-breaking technologies combined in one amazing sensor
If you have ever seen a pale blue sky turn white in a photograph then you have experienced one of the biggest problems facing all compact digital cameras: limited dynamic range. Super CCD EXR uses Dual Capture Technology to simultaneously capture two images of the same scene: one taken at high sensitivity and the other at low sensitivity. It then merges the two images to generate a photo with increased (up to 800% higher) Dynamic Range. This broadened tonal capability minimises dipping and guarantees exceptional rendition of photos with both bright highlights and dark shadows.
Boosting sensitivity on conventional sensors has always resulted in increased noise, and efforts to control this noise have meant blurred images and loss of resolution when shooting in low light However, it is possible to capture a low noise image using a process known as pixel binning: combining the signal from two or more adjacent pixels. Unfortunately the conventional approach to binning produces images with false colours (due to the large gaps between the pixels of the same colour). Removing these false colours results in blurred images with very low resolution.
EXR's unique colour filter arrangement means that two side-by-side, same colours pixels are taken together as a single pixel: this Pixel Fusion Technology prevents the generation of false colours caused by conventional pixel binning.
Manual controls or EXR Auto - your choiceIf you require total sensor control, the FinePix F200EXR gives you the ability to manually switch the sensor to one of the three capture modes. However, if you would prefer for us to do it for you, then just select EXR Auto & the camera will switch to the optimum settings for the scene being photographed. Perfect Pictures - Automatically

![]() Aperture PriorityFor hands on control if you require the flexibility of being able to manually set the aperture & control the depth of field. Versatile ZoomThe FinePix F200EXR offers a hugely versatile Fujinon 5x wide-angle zoom lens. With razor sharp Fujinon optics to ensure that everything is captured in breathtaking detail, edge to edge, corner to corner. The 28mm wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing sweeping landscapes and large groups of people. At the telephoto the zoom extends to an impressive 140mm, bringing distant subjects much closer to you.
Advanced Image Stabilisation system
Super Intelligent FlashConventional cameras often produce washed out flash shots when photographing anything too close to the lens. The FinePix F200EXR's new Super Intelligent Flash system makes it easy to capture bright, clear and natural detail when using flash across the entire 5x zoom range, even in Macro mode.
Perfect People PicturesFujifilm's fast and powerful Face Detection 3.0 technology optimises the camera's settings to ensure faces are captured with perfect focus, colour and exposure. The technology is so clever that is can quickly detect faces at extreme angles, in profile and at 360 degrees.
Ban red-eye for good!Featuring in-built red-eye removal, the F200EXR removes any red-eye automatically, during picture taking.
Film SimulationPopular with traditional photographers, the FinePix F200EXR gives you the ability to recreate the very distinctive look of film. Featuring five film simulation modes which are modelled on Fujifilm's heritage and much-loved films; each will add a unique look and feel to your photographs, bringing back the good old days!

PhotographyBLOG - March 2009 4.5/5 stars Highly Recommended"The new EXR mode is as effective in practice as it is revolutionary in principle. The D-Range Priority (DR) mode in particular is literally a real eye-opener, recording much greater dynamic range and preserving more detail in the shadows and highlights than either the F200EXR's own high-resolution mode, or any other compact camera that we've ever reviewed... ...the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR produces fantastic out-of-the-camera JPEG images with low noise and amazing dynamic range...but if you want to literally see the finer details in all areas of your photos, that's a price well worth paying in our book." CNET UK - March 2009 9.1 Spectacular"The Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR is a fantastic camera. The brand new EXR sensor delivers the improved high-ISO quality promised by Fujifilm, and the high-dynamic-range mode is just brilliant. Fujifilm may just have pulled the rug out from under its rivals." ePHOTOzine - March 2009 Cutting Edge Design Award"Noise is dealt with very well at low ISO which is the mark of good hardware and a larger sensor...The principle ideals of the camera seem excellent, its features are ahead of anyone elses and Fujifilm are once again proving themselves as market leaders in the sensor development field." Pocket-lint - March 2009"...the in-camera technology and features make this a very versatile camera indeed... If you are looking for a camera that is compact and virtually guarantees you'll get a decent image at the end, this is certainly one to look closer at. Taking a picture doesn't get much easier."
